Who Are Wolf Tree Specialists?

We are a team of Certified Arborists in Berks County, uniquely qualified to protect your trees and plants. Our team shares a lifelong passion for nature. Most of our staff began their careers with formal degrees in forestry or horticulture. While forestry programs focus on managing large woods, arboriculture specializes in the care of individual landscape trees.

Furthermore, arborists are unique professionals. They understand tree biology and possess the skills to climb high. Because climbing large trees with chainsaws is dangerous, our team stays in peak physical shape. Consequently, we combine this physical skill with the education needed to care for your trees safely.

Wolf Tree Specialists’ employees share a passionate, lifelong interest in trees. Certified employees at Wolf Tree Specialists begin their careers with a formal education at a college or university in an accredited forestry, horticulture, or arboriculture program. Forestry curricula prepare students for careers in managing forests (communities of trees), while arboriculture and horticulture prepare students for careers in the care of landscape trees.

Arborists are special people. They need to know tree biology (how trees work) and be able to climb trees to care for them. Climbing large trees (using chainsaws high in the canopy) is physically demanding, difficult, and dangerous. To do this job successfully, a person must enjoy the physical challenges of climbing large trees (being in great shape) and have the experience and education to know what to do once they reach the top.

Wolf Tree Specialists provides high quality tree preservation and tree health management services in Berks County and adjoining counties in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Our services include expert pruning and trimming, installing cable and support systems, tree and stump removal, and lot clearing.

Our History

Wolf Tree Specialists Inc. was founded in 1981 by Grover C. Wolf III. Mr. Wolf was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a BS degree in Forest Science. After more than a decade of gaining valuable experience in residential and utility arboriculture, Mr. Wolf believed the time was right to begin offering professional tree care and forestry services in Berks County.

Until that time, Berks County residents’ choices were limited to self-taught tree workers of limited experience and education. National standards for tree care were emerging, and it was time for Berks County to adopt the ‘right way’ for treating its trees. Since 1981, Certified Wolf Tree Specialists personnel have assisted more than 11,000 homeowners.

In 2022, Tony Angelisanti transitioned from Operations Manager to Owner of Wolf Tree Specialists. Wolf Tree Specialists has been setting professional tree care standards in Berks County for more than 40 years and expects to continue leading the tree care profession there for the next 40 years.

Moreover, the State mandates CEUs. Our team earns these by attending seminars to maintain state applicator certification.

Wolf Tree Specialists holds a license to perform tree care on residential properties through the State Attorney General (PA171706).

Doing Business With Us

  Initial Contact

First contact with Wolf Tree Specialists is often initiated by a phone call to our office requesting an estimate or a service. Office staff will usually request information from the caller and schedule a visit to the work site. Our email address is provided for requests over the internet, although phone contact will usually follow to discuss the nature of the work in more detail.

  Estimates & Billing

Estimates are free, typically prepared in our office and emailed or sent to you as soon as possible.

Invoices are sent to your billing address once the work is complete. We appreciate it if you can receive your payment in our office within 10 days of the invoice date.

Plant Health Care / Proposals and Billing

Proposals are normally mailed in late January so that you will have time to review your program for the growing season. Recommendations do not change much from one year to the next. However, if changes are requested or treatment schedules are modified to be more effective, a note is usually included to alert you to the new recommendations.

Invoices are mailed to you as soon as we receive confirmation. We ask that you sign and mail us the white copy of your proposal after choosing the treatments you desire. We do not send invoices for each treatment. Once we receive confirmation, you will receive an invoice for the total program. A date midway through the year is usually indicated as the expected payment date. Terms can be arranged if desired. Please call our office to speak to a representative.

  Scheduling

As soon as an authorization is received in our office your job will be placed on our ‘job list’. During busy times of the year (summer and fall) a waiting period of a month or more is common. Waiting periods are not as long during less busy periods of the year. Our office staff will provide you with an approximate scheduling date, and can also schedule your job by appointment if there is a need for you to know precisely which day your work will be done.

We normally call you a day or two in advance before sending a crew to perform your work. If there is a conflict in timing a new work date can be established at that time
